Screw air compressor oil is the "blood" of oil-injected screw air compressors, serving multiple functions such as lubrication, sealing, cooling, and anti-corrosion. Improper selection and maintenance can easily lead to faults such as carbon deposits at the compressor head and rotor seizing. It is strictly prohibited to use engine oil or hydraulic oil to replace special air compressor oil. Incorrect oil products will produce sludge foam and damage the main unit.
The air compressor oils available on the market are mainly divided into three types:
(1) mineral oil, with an oil change cycle of 2000 to 3000 hours, is suitable for intermittent use under light load;
(2)Semi-synthetic oils represented by Mobil Laris 625 (ISO VG46) are recommended for replacement every 4,000 hours under normal working conditions and are the mainstream choice in industrial scenarios.
(3)Fully synthetic oils such as Mobil SHC Rarus 1025 can achieve long-term operation for 6,000-8,000 hours under harsh conditions and are suitable for continuous operation for 24 hours.
Viscosity should preferably be selected from the industry-standard VG46. Different types of oils must not be mixed.
Maintenance should follow: The first oil change for a new machine should be completed after 500 hours. Even if it has not reached the working period, the maximum usage period of the oil product shall not exceed two years. Once the oil turns black and turbid, it should be replaced in time.
The rational selection of suitable oil products can reduce equipment downtime failures and effectively lower the operation and maintenance costs of factories.
